Development Coordinator/Technical Lead

Development coordinator and technical lead for Phoenix/GeoSemantica a web based decision support environment. Phoenix/GeoSemantica is a standards based platform designed for use by Government agencies to support decision making around natural hazards. Phoenix/GeoSemantica is being developed as part of the Multi-Andean Project/Geoscience for Andean Communities project and will be implemented in 10 countries including Canada. Technologies include ASP.NET, C#, XML, XSLT, SOAP, Web Services, JavaScript, Macromedia Flash and HTML.

Georgia Basin Digital Library and Bowen Island Digital Library web portal senior developer. The Georgia Basin and Bowen Island Digital Library projects are on-line web resource that promote awareness and understanding of sustainable development issues within the Georgia Basin region of South-western British Columbia. Technologies used included XML, SOAP, Web Services, ColdFusion, PHP, JavaScript, Macromedia Flash and HTML.

STAR provides individuals and community groups in British Columbia and beyond with online tools and resources to help them further the sustainability of their communities and environments. Technologies used included XML, SOAP, Web Services, ColdFusion, PHP, JavaScript, Macromedia Flash and HTML.

Southwest US Utility Company

Facilities Management Application

Designed and developed an ArcView GIS facilities management application. Field personnel and maintenance supervisors use the application to manage the company’s power line infrastructure. Some key features included database merging, project creation wizards and field data collection tools. I was involved with the entire lifecycle of the project from the needs assessment and design to the integration and deployment of the application.

Environment Canada - Water Services Commission

National Hydrologic Conditions Management System

Contributed to the design and development of a public Internet mapping application used to view and query hydrologic conditions across Canada. The application displays near real time river level information using satellite data. Technologies and software used included Map Objects, Geobroker, ArcView, Oracle and New Leaf satellite data acquisition software.
